Dungeons & Dragons Online In 2022

Check out Warhammer 40k Inquisitor Martyr Console Ultimate Edition here: Sponsored by Nacon

Dungeons & Dragons Online is a free to play fantasy MMORPG that initially released back in 2006, since then the game had years’ worth of content updates, new dungeons, raids, stories, zones to explore, puzzles and challenges, a somewhat recent addition to DDO a few years ago was its hardcore league, which is basically a permadeath mode where you start fresh and try to progress as far as you can without dying for special rewards, in this video though I’m gonna see what the normal version of the game has to offer, see if anything has changed since my last time playing and see how well it holds up in 2022…

What do you think about Dungeons & Dragons Online in 2022? is the game still a unique enough MMORPG that it’s worth playing? would you like to see a modern take on DDO? let me know your thoughts on this MMO in the comments below!

Dungeons & Dragons Online In 2022

  1. War Hammer Inquisitor Martyr is awesome on PC. I would think the console versions are good also. The game rocks

  2. I played this game a little when it first came out I think and I recognize those dungeons. I guess it hasn’t changed much

  3. 7:00 Big spider? Oh you want Whisperdoom. She's.. later.

9:30 Like Tempest Spine, where you have to solve a puzzle as a raid boss beats on you, or the quad-cube craziness in Ghost of a Chance, or whatever the hell that optional puzzle in Sane Asylum is doing.

Honestly, the biggest barrier to DDO is that it kind of expects you to know pen-and-paper D&D. Specifically 3.5 edition. (Except Warlock, which inexplicably takes a lot from 5th edition) All that feat bloat and skill point spending is a hallmark of Third Edition D&D (and Pathfinder) that more modern editions have moved away from. I honestly think being shackled to 3.5 is the biggest flaw DDO has.

  4. oh boy @TheLazyPeon D&D fanboy here (me) first off , youre playing a game based on the D&D 3.5 rule(S?) books . secondly 4:12 proportion arent off , its a halfling , its smaller than an dwarf . in order of size for common paper races it would be : gnome , halfling , dwarf , elf , demi-elf , human , demi-orc , orc . 5:56 again , its a halfling . 6:35 oh dont you worry , mimic's exist , but im serrious , dont you worry , like litterally , they are only mid / late game so at such "peasant" low level you shall fear nothing . 7:03 a big brown spider ??? let me just say these words , harry potter and arragorn 😁 . 7:50 , remember wow old days with class trainer ? yeah , its the same on ddo . 8:15 yeah but no . can you put a great axe in your hand ? yes . but will you have a malus on attack rolls because you dont have the 2 handed fighting feat ? also yes . 10:55 as far as i remember there is no key for it , you need either a rogue , an artificer , or a mage that can open you the door . both rogue and artificer can open it by lockpicking it and the mage can use a spell called unlock (or something like that) and magically unlock it . 11:22 yikes . peon , you didnt heal , nor leveled your character at your class trainer and you gonna get reckted at normal cause its a lvl 3 dungeon at normal difficulty . aye karamba . 11:55 and now you have a malus on xp gain for the completion of the dungeon because you died . 12:53 , honestly i dont know how he survived . 13:27 fun fact . thats not an elf , but a drow . 15:27 nope , peon , dont you remember that there was a "customize" button when choosing among your 3 types of paladin ? you can customize every character to this very extent , which , btw , is a normal day to day task for us D&D players 😇 . 16:29 nah mate , enjoy doing that till level 15 . i might sound like a douchebag at this point , but again , it is a normal day affair for us to do that each time we start an iconic hero . 18:18 unlessss …… youre a casting class , obviously .

  5. "looks like a wukong character" o.e… NOT LEAGUE OF LEGENDS! Lmao

  6. This was my go to MMO for over 6 years, starting back in 2006. I have nothing but fond memories … Surprised you didn't play through more of the story and experience the higher-level dungeons.

  7. I deffo would love a modern take on this game

  8. Love this game, always end up returning to it for a few weeks every year. I would immediately buy a DDO2 !

  9. Never saw much that caught my attention but the combat felt really impactful.

  10. It looks exactly like LOTRO or WOW, but nothing like Dungeons and Dragons.

  11. I did love it back in the day. We had two of my roommates, my roommate's cousin, and the neighbor playing as a group every day for months.

  12. People would survive dragons because dragons need our little hands to make gold.

  13. 2006 ugh…….. that hurt. I played this at release lol

  14. One of my favorites MMOs, it is outdated ofcorse it is… But is an awesome game, really fun, great gameplay and cool class system. Pale Master FTW

  15. “Budget Gandalf”… had me rolling 😂

  16. nothing has change its the same and will be till the end of time

  17. You will need to develop your lock picking skill to open that gate, probably not a good use of skill points on a Paladin. You should level up to level 4 doing harbour quests and then do a 'Waterworks run'. I think you would have fun.
To jump off dizzy heights and not die look for an item with Feather Fall on it.

  18. Also the game does have a ingame store just it doesn't work if you play through steam

  19. Madman actually called Elminster a discount Gandalf. D&D bros seething.

  20. They definitely need to make a new one, don't be like ultima online the greatest mmo ever

  21. DDO 2 would be a must play for me, I spent so many hours on DDO with my Arch army and I would love to see a modern version.

  22. still good but could be great to have it redone with todays standars too

  23. One reasons that there are more people at low level is because the reincarnation system encourages people to replay content over and over.

  24. Short and sweet: I've played since 2011 and keep coming back, eschewing WoW, Rift, Guild Wars, etc in favor of this sometimes grungy looking instance-based MMO. For those interested in playing the game: make a human paladin, 16 strength and 14 in constitution, wisdom and charisma. Two Handed Fighting and Power Attack. Bash monsters, heal up between fights. If you enjoy it, keep going. There are many resources online. Steep learning curve for some of the game, but worth your while.

  25. i still have birthday cake from 1st and 2nd anniversary on my main.

  26. all the devs do at ddo is nerf players! Now you can't have multiple imbues on weapons which in no way was op!

  27. Everquest 1999 had climbable ladders in a mmorpg smshes this 2006 prediction

  28. biggest problem i had with D&D online was the stupid amount of fukning puzzles, i got so sick of puzzles, i just wanted to adventure and have fun, not complete a freaking rubics cube every night

  29. Aye But Dragons Do exist My boy. Kamodo Dragons…

  30. I can see people appreciate this old classic. If anyone needs evidence that the dev team is legit, just watch their streams. Low-key tabletop players. The love of real DnD drips over DDO

  31. your dwarf is bigger than the first guy you see cause he is a halfling, or hobbit if you prefer.

  32. The brief time you played DDO … you only scratched the surface of what you could bare witness to the world of dungeon and dragons. This game has so much more depth so it that most people realize in the first couple hours of gameplay. Great Video for first impressions

  33. my main complaint is the ui needs some improvements

  34. the ui text wont properly scale for bigger screens

  35. That cloak looks better than any wow cloak haha

  36. Best Online Game I ever played. Wished they could move at least some of it to Consoles.

  37. It is a great game but chat is just (almost) nonexistent.

  38. Thank God people are continuing to make couch co-op games. I was just complaining a couple months ago how there's not enough split screen co-op in console games anymore.

  39. Starting off shipwrecked reminds me of exactly how Neverwinter MMO started and this looks exactly like Neverwinter MMO.
